Okay… here’s my new thing. I make ties. I started with cute short girl ties (pictured below) and over the weekend I made my first full scale version (that’s me wearing it right there.) I really like the short ones but the standard length is fun too. Who wants one? I’ll make one special just for you or the person/thing of your choice.
The lovely folks behind Sunday Night Improv invited me back…

My friend Larry has started filming some episodes of his story “Whose Life Is This Anyway?” and I am in episode 3 playing a real estate broker who is trying to get her hoarder friend Marc to empty his apartment so it can be sold. We had not planned on filming the episode that day but everyone in the scene happened to be at Larry’s store so with some coaching from Larry we improvised this. I hope you like it.

This gem of a film made by John Keel and Ed Lord follows John Keel (notorious teetotaler) playing a drunkard staggering through the streets of Manhattan and through MoMA. It’s god-damned-brilliant! Coming in at just over 12 minutes, we chopped her into two parts.
For more on John, please visit his tribute site here.

A few days before the show I took out a stopwatch and timed myself to see how long my set was (I needed to fill 15 minutes)…well I was horrified to discover that it was a mere 2 minutes and 24 seconds long. I had a mild panic attack but then realized that I know the words to most of Doug Skinner’s songs. His lyrics are so lovely they don’t need music so I figured I could improvise something and fake my way through the show.
Doug will be coming out with an album so you’ll be able to hear this song played properly…and oh so beautifully soon.
Until then, click here for my cover of Flake Food…. by my dear friend…the talented, wonderful Doug Skinner.
This is Doug Skinner. You can see some clips of him playing here.
